Metropolitan COSAFA Cup 2006 – 14 days notice, which venue?

In early November 2006 SAFA approached Metropolitan with a proposal to be the Exclusive and Official sponsor of the annual U20 Cosafa Tournament which had been in existence for the past 6 years. The event was due to take place in early December 2006.

Ad Hoc Programming
The Kaelo Worldwide Media production unit subsists not only on the more regular advertiser-funded and commissioned programming, but has made a big effort to expand it’s repertoire and scope of productions. As such, the unit has been looking to build stronger relationships with various broadcasters and clients not already in it’s stable.
One of the areas that allows us to do this is the African marathons in Nairobi, Vic Falls and Kilimanjaro. Over the last few years, Supersport have shown a great interest in these events and in 2007 KWM again produced 26-minute programmes on each of these marathons, using the expertise gathered on producing the weekly road running show, Tseleng.
Further to this relationship with Supersport, KWM will also be producing eight 26-minute programmes on the Energade Triathlon Series, charting the event’s start at Hobie Beach in Port Elizabeth in late September, through to Worcester, Germiston, Midmar Dam, Potchefstroom, Roodeplaat and the event’s finale at the Vaal Dam.
Other ad hoc programming in the past has included highlights production for the Durban Beach Africa Festival in Durban, daily news packages for the SABC on the Business Trust Long Run, highlights AVs for the SA Boxing Awards and the SA Sports Awards and the bi-monthly DHL Africa Sports Show on Supersport.
