Commissioned Programming
In 2003, Kaelo Worldwide Media were commissioned by SABC Sport to produce a 26-minute South African road running programme and in 2007 “Tseleng” moved into it’s fifth season. The programme showcases ultra marathons, marathons, half-marathons and specialised shorter distance races from around the country, with the Tseleng team in a different part of South Africa every weekend.
Tseleng not only reports and reflects the results and winners of these events, but also goes behind the scenes to capture the unique selling point of each race, it’s history, significance and impact on the community. Often, the character and humour in the show is provided by the backmarkers at each of these races and the Tseleng team ensures that this element is always captured. Other elements in the show include the weekly interview conducted by resident expert Mampudi, as well as the Nedbank calendar of upcoming races and events.
